Am I Suited For Online Learning?
The computer has become as commonplace as the telephone in today’s business environment, and any business student needs to become proficient in its use. For this reason, a basic degree of computer literacy is required in our Accounting courses. If you have clicked a mouse, used e-mail, “surfed the net,” and printed a document; you probably have the necessary skills. If not, they can be learned in just an hour or two at your local library. Otherwise, the time and effort you devote to your learning will determine the degree of success that you have. If you are a good reader, like working with numbers, and can motivate yourself to read, reflect, and practice; then you are probably very well suited for online learning.
A very good discussion of the nature of online coursework, and even a self-evaluation quiz, are available from the Illinois Online Network.
